Curriculum

EYFS

KRIS School has adopted the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum from the UK, which emphasizes the importance of what children learn and integrates the Reggio Emilia approach. This method focuses on learning through interactions and the context of the child's experiences, promoting safe and appropriate developmental progress in both life and education.

At KRIS School, we also prioritize play-based learning to build confidence and interaction with the surrounding environment. This approach is widely recognized as the most suitable for children's learning. We balance adult-led activities with child-initiated activities, allowing children to engage in role play, cooking, building, water play, and more each day. This helps them fully utilize their imagination, creativity, problem solving skills, and physical development.

Additionally, creating an appropriate environment is a key factor in developing various skills in children. Our school provides a warm, safe, and clean environment, ensuring that children feel comfortable and can develop to their full potential.

Four Principles for Children's Learning:

1. The curriculum emphasizes placing children at the center of their learning, based on their own interests.

2. The curriculum promotes cooperation and involvement between children and those around them.

3. The curriculum emphasizes creating a positive and suitable environment for children's learning.

4. The curriculum aims to promote the comprehensive development of children in physical, mental, emotional, and life skills, ensuring they become capable individuals both in the classroom and in society.

EF

Executive Function (EF) is the brain's high-level ability to control thoughts, emotions, and actions to achieve goals. Our children will benefit from positive traits such as resilience, confidence, empathy, self-control, and effective communication skills. These qualities will enable them to thrive in an ever-changing society.

Reggio

KRIS International School adopts the Reggio Emilia approach, which emphasizes learning driven by children's interactions and their context. By allowing children to explore and seek knowledge on their own, with teachers observing and guiding their next steps, we ensure that children develop effectively and safely in a way that is appropriate for their age.

We integrate art as a medium of learning in the Reggio Emilia approach along with play-based learning, recognized as highly suitable for children. Through play, children can fully engage their imagination to develop creative thinking and problem-solving skills, along with physical growth. This method also helps build confidence as they learn to explore, interact, and set clear goals for themselves.

Children lead their play, with teachers observing and guiding what they should learn next through fostering good relationships and establishing safe routines for play and learning. Comprehensive records of the learning process, including all activities, are kept throughout the child's learning journey. During various activities, teachers play a crucial role in documenting events that reflect the children's dedicated work and learning.

TRILINGUAL LANGUAGE PROGRAMME

We enhance development by familiarizing children with English, Thai, and Chinese. Our program integrates learning these three languages seamlessly and naturally, allowing children to develop their listening and speaking skills. By fostering familiarity and a positive attitude towards languages from an early age, children can learn additional languages more effectively in the future.
